8 or so bees in my bonnet
|||||brian eno-music for airports||]|
i am on an airliner at the moment
scooting back to blighty
a fellow jumbo just passed nearby below us
it's vapour trail decayed into smoke rings
it was so cool...
i snapped an impact crater over northern india...
...kiev looks lovely from a height of 39000ft
a very radial city.
with an absolutely dead straight highway to the next town
which is another radial city.
i made a airliner sandwich,
you know the ones,
you have this bun
that they've given you
and some weird unidentified salad
and it's just crying out 'sandwich'
and even though you don't really want it you eat it anyway...
however, i digress.
i've been in singapore for a week
enjoying good friend rach's wedding.
new hub greg works for UNHCR
a very groovy buddhist wedding
with interesting features like passionfruit vodka & lychee cocktails, complimentary fans, chants,
and a reading from the i ching
i wanted to get the happy couple a (golden) cat that waved
but all the ones i saw were not for sale
hiho. i will find one somewhere.
the place was like a UN convention
8 nationalities represented
english, american, japanese, hungarian, sri lankan, bangladeshi, slovenian, french
a very interesting and friendly bunch
the only real dampener on proceedings was the fact that
some poor kid mule had been hung (which century is this again?) for
traffiking 400g of heroin.
singapore, modern economic miracle, land of escalators, fantastic food
and dickensian drug laws.
