8 or so bees in my bonnet
had to swim out to the island
to make it into the competition
to swim around the island.
the far side of the island was very rough
a narrow passage where the tide
was like a ramjet engine
down a passage in my face.
you had to time it just right
to reach the coast.
on the island
things were powered by water and gears
in a victorian kind of way
i managed to set off a chain reaction that
blew a football of glass
above our heads
(lots of specialised tools that carved the pentagons and hexagons)
i could see that the glass ball was about to drop
and i didn't want it to be damaged,
but i caught it on the first bounce
and it wasn't severley damaged,
as i held it,
it clouded over with a red deposit on the surface
i asked a native, 'is this normal?'
they answered,'yes, it is a reaction of the glass to the air, if you rub it, it
will come off.' (it did come off but was redeposited very quickly)
this annoyed my fellow adventurers who had run away when the glass sphere was about to drop.
because i now had my own locker with my progress saved.
there were four spaces.
i had a glass egg in one space.
