what the world needs now is more hardliners [Sep. 2nd, 2004|12:22 am]
8 or so bees in my bonnet

i'm pretty depressed about the world this week.

12 nepalese (about the most peaceful non threatening people on earth)
workers brutally executed.

the world looking in horror at dafur whilst our glorious leaders do next
to nothing about it.

the brilliantly, cynically stage managed republican party 'coincidence'
that will ensure another 4 years of 'that man'.

and 150 very frightened schoolkids stuck between a rock and a hard place.

this planet is fucked.

yes

sometimes i have to clip my news intake.
for self preservation.

i have this sense of foreboding
that he will, indeed, have four more years.
it's already going to take several generations to undo what that person has done.
i was optimistic a while back, but now my gut says things must get worse before the tide turns back to rationality. and i don't see why it has to be this way.

it's very depressing, indeed.

saw a little clip of the RNC... I guess they made sure to hand out signs for everyone to wave for every single politician/nominee/speaker because Schwartznegr was speaking and EVERYONE in the entire damned audience was waving around their "ARNOLD!" signs proudly.

ya know these bumper stickers with the american flag that
say "power of pride"? well I've been devilishly conniving to go around with a sharpie and draw swastikas or add in the word "GAY" on every one I see.

i live in texas.

this could be a HUGE effort
