an artist with a scientific interests' vision in how we may go about exploring the solar system.
first of all forget the science. it's shaky to say the least. a highly risky one hour 'smash and dash' on venus? the poor geologist sure got the short end of that straw.
i think they're just making a point.
but after seeing the first episode this looks good. direction and editing are sharp. it owes a lot to stanley kubrick. with a title like that, how could it not.
when they get to mars things pick up considerably.
using their 'walking with dinosaurs' concept of 'dramamentry' this film works much better here with human beings. there is a dramatic movie in there i'm sure, but i like the way they throw the occasional fact in.
