the sea is a cruel mistress [Jan. 3rd, 2005|04:29 am]
8 or so bees in my bonnet
[music |gay dad-how it might end]

thank goodness for living in a warm temperate climate
away from tectonic plate boundaries, active volcanoes
and venomous or dangerous creatures.
thank god for my suv.

i imagined the wave passing a pod of dolphins
and them regrouping as it tugged them along for miles
uh oh, they said to each other,
pity we can't outrun it...

i imagined i was on a beach as i realised
the wave was a killer in the pit of my stomach
and the last thing i remember
was seeing a six year old boy
making a sandcastle
in front of me
and as he crashed into me
i held on to him for dear life...

...the cold cold water brought me to my senses
i realised i had to let go.
or we would both surely drown
i wonder what became of him?
maybe i could've grabbed his arm?

thank my lucky stars for living in a warm temperate climate
away from tectonic plate boundaries, active volcanoes
and venomous or dangerous creatures.
thank lady luck for my suv.

i will never
complain
about the rain
again.

Good reality check :)

Really powerful.

In that case, I'm glad to live well inland where we get the occasional tornado, but I'm glad for my Ford Taurus...
