8 or so bees in my bonnet
well here i am in the rather nice sylvia hotel right the corner of the beach and stanley park. (there is a book written about a cat called 'got to go' featuring it)
and the first real chance i've had to use a computer with they provide for free which is nice.
i like vancouver. it is a very laid back and friendly city. for example, if you stand there staring at a map looking lost someone will invariable offer to help you. that just wouldn't happen in the uk. oh and the nightporter's just made some fresh coffee. sweet.
one slightly strange thing for such a liberal city. you can't smoke anywhere and people don't even smoke on the street. i got funny looks standing outside a bar puffing away. i suppose it's a good thing really, just not for me.
had a wander round stanley park last night and came across a small hare krishna festival which included free food (yum), gopal's cow protection (a bull wearing an orange necklace of flowers) and a scarily realistic sculpture of the reincarnations of man. i'll try to post some pics. (hmmn i wonder if this thing has a usb port....aha it does, it just might work....).
