bonobos are chimps
but their behaviour is very different.
a maternalistic rather than paternalistic society
makes a whole heap of difference.
whereas male chimps are agressive and territorial and dangerous,
male bonobos are generally sexed up playthings.
yes, they squabble, but things never get out of hand,
dissapproving females see to that...
there are probably 30.000 bonobos left in the wild
